Born in Belgium, Joelle de Jonge enjoyed an international upbringing and started traveling at an early age. Joelle holds a degree in Environmental Engineering and worked in that field for several years. She then decided to combine her formal training in Engineering, her delight in photography and writing with her passion for traveling.

Joelle likes to alternate between the modern comfort of home, which is currently in Indiana, USA,  and the family tent. During camping Joelle enjoys the peace of remote locations, stunning sunrises and preparing gourmet meals on a tiny camping stove.
When Joelle is not working she delights in the company of her family, plays the cello or the piano and enjoys local hiking trails.

Joelle is a member of the German Specialized Press Association and the International Travel Writers & Photographers Alliance.
